I have over the years tried to "balance" my life, my habits, and my responsibilities, only to end up more stressed than ever.
As a result, in my early 30's I tried no balance and just went full tilt in to everything!! New project? Do it til it exhausted me. New spiritual discovery? Read about it until reality slipped away. Needless to say, that did not work well, I was hospitalized as a matter of fact. And thus my experiment into no balance ended. Spectacularly!!
So how do I or anyone actually have a life that feels exciting, secure, happy, adjusting to challenges, and NOT being overwhelmed?
Welp, the answer is not ground breaking. Take it one day at a time. Seriously, it's that simple and that complex. And the practices are as follows:
Let The Past Go
You can not change it. Do not sit in constant contemplation. Try to learn a lesson, commit to self awareness in the future, and be in the present in the now.
Stay In Today
You've let the past go, but the future is scary...so it take it an hour at a time. Don't think about next week, except to prep. But don't worry it in your mind. What needs doing in the next hour? Focus there until the next hour pops up. Repeat.
Change Your Expectations
Balance meant golden living in my mind and constant positivity. Well I know better and you probably do too. Don't settle for less than you deserve. But do realize what you believe you deserve, what life believes you deserve, and what other people think you deserve can vary WILDLY! Plan accordingly, believe in your worth, but practice patience too.
What does balancing your energy mean? For me, it means going with flow and not sitting in a constant stream of resistance. My chakras, energy, and ego do a whole lot better when I let go of control, engage in the above ideas, and be compassionate to myself.
Then maybe..."balance" has been achieved! :-)

What do you do to release and flow with the day?
