This pandemic has changed our lives in epic ways. Seeing family, spending time with friends, going out for entertainment, even just enjoying a stroll in the park have become dangerous endeavors. Especially for those with compromised immune systems.
We need to stay home, except when necessary. And even with some lockdowns lifting a bit (depending on where you live, maybe a lot), we still need to be careful.
Which means some of us who like to look special now and again (or regularly) are having no where to go. This might seem a small thing and it is in some respects, but getting "a look" together is a very easy and satisfying way to increase the positive quality of your mood, feel confident, and feel special.
If you want to sweats it out, do bed head all day, and barely scrub your face clean. That's okay. It's more than alright. We're in unprecedented times. And for some of us, not being "on" has been relieving, relaxing, and exactly what the doctor ordered.
I've frequently been in that category myself. But I've also felt the melancholy of not looking my best, even if all I needed to do was Zoom meet a few friends.
So I've put on some make up, put on a nice top and took some cute selfies. Why not? Lol. I felt attractive, positive, and happy with myself. It's a simple thing, but definitely falls under self care. Boosting my mood helps with resilience to keep up the good fight and live as much life as I can, while I can, pandemic and all.
