Wanna Age Gracefully? Get and Keep Getting Massages

Updated: Jan 9, 2021

Massage therapy has seen a quite a bit of growth the last several years. With massage therapy chains like Elements Massage, Massage Envy, and Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa popping up all over the place it's a good bet that people are no longer seeking massage therapy as just a treat, but instead as a regular part of their self care regimen. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a massage therapist and this is good for me, but this is also very good for you! As massage therapy becomes more mainstream, expect to see more wellness programs offer it. Expect to see more insurance companies pay for it. It's a revolution. Massage therapy was once thought of as “massage” performed by a masseuse. Eventually though the public and the medical establishment really started to understand that massage is massage therapy. There are therapeutic benefits to this activity and not just stress relief.

Massage therapy has a long history in the story of humanity. Massage was first written about in China over 2,000 years ago! It's benefits have been know for ages. But now massage therapy is finally enjoying wide spread approval and it seems we're going back to our roots. Using the power of touch of to heal and revive the sick and wounded. Massage therapy techniques have gotten very advanced and are used for conditions ranging from thoracic outlet syndrome, to carpal tunnel syndrome, to reducing scar tissue after a surgery, to relieving back pain in pregnant women, to fibromyalgia, to......literally hundreds of conditions. That's how effective massage therapy is.

And for people who don't necessarily have a serious medical condition, massage therapy is still more useful than just a relaxation tool. It helps keep muscles supple and less contracted which helps with flexibility and range of motion. While also lowering your chances of experiencing acute and intense pain from a pulled muscle.

Think about it, with a regular workout regimen, good nutrition, and regular massage therapy, your current life is going to be great. But your golden years don't have to be spent bent over, in chronic pain, only able to shuffle around, and a loss of independence. In your golden years you can feel energetic, able to move without difficulty, and do for yourself. It may seem far off, but doing today what will make tomorrow's, tomorrow even better is a worthwhile investment of your time, energy, and finances. Get a massage today, you'll feel better immediately and regular massage therapy will make you feel better for a long time to come. #benefitsofmassagetherapy #massagetherapy #massage #feelgood #totalwellness
